As part of HBA’s ongoing commitment to the public realm enhancement we have worked collaboratively with the residents of the Royal Crescent, surrounding streets, and various council departments to facilitate a number of large concerts within the historic setting of the Cresent. Over several years these have included concerts by, Olly Murs, Michael Bublé, and Robbie Williams. The logistical complexity of accessing a restricted site and erecting stages and equipment weighing more than 1000 tonnes requires the careful coordination of protection, dismantling and bridging of historic structures. What makes these projects particularly challenging is the very tight sites and window of only a matter of days to implement the works and organise the consents. Monies generated from these concerts are donated by the Royal Crescent to local charities and fulfil an obligation under the HLF and HE funding agreement for the historic repair of the crescent railings and haha.
